One H.O.O.D. (Helping Our Own Develop)
ONE HOOD is a community-based organization dedicated to empowering Newark’s youth and adults. We work directly with high-risk individuals, focusing on conflict resolution, trauma recovery, and life skills development. Our staff and volunteers, many of whom have lived experiences similar to those we serve, bring authenticity and credibility to our approach.
ONE HOOD members are now Certified Community Practitioners! The graduating first class at Kean University on December 10, 2024. So much appreciation for the Deputy Mayor of Newark, NJ Ms. Keesha Eure, Mr. Angelo Pinto Esq & Dr. Jamila T. Davis.
The journey continues, but a celebration is in order. What a great achievement! What a great opportunity! More FAMILY forged from the work being put in on the streets, in the neighborhoods, in & around the schools, boots on the ground, on the front lines, behind the scenes, pushing empowerment and accountability.
Congratulations are in order for all of the students who accomplished this fete! Big shout-outs to the MBA students, who stepped into a part of our worlds and saw things from a different perspective, assisting in bringing life and traction to our ideas and endeavors.
